Jillian & Matt Wedding Golden Gardens Bathhouse
Jillian & Matt were married on March 30, 2013 at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse in Seattle, WA.
As you can see from the pictures below, it ended up being a very beautiful spring day for a wedding at golden gardens!
I was surprised to find my old friend from Federal Way Family Fest days, Mary Ehlis was the venue coordinator! I hadn’t seen her in years and it was great to catch up although briefly.
On May 19, 2012 I performed for Matt’s mother Diane as she married Mark at the Sorrento hotel. It was so nice to see everyone once again!
The room was decorated quite nicely under the coordination of Jillian & Matt’s friend, Ellen. The Bridal party was busy taking pictures with Tacey Abney & Jen Schumaker before the festivities began.
The Golden Gardens ceremony began at a bit after 5:30pm since the parking lot was so full due to the nice weather (we had to wait for guests to arrive). It was a beautiful ceremony officiated by their close friend Brian who did a marvelous job personalizing the ceremony.
The parents walked in to David Gray’s “This Years Love”, the bridal party marched in to Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat’s “Lucky” and Jillian and her father entered to Israel Kamakawiwo’ole “Over The Rainbow”.
Take a look at the Arbor they are standing beneath; the Groom Matt built it himself!
They had quite a unique Unity ceremony as well. The couple has a tradition of gathering rocks as keepsakes during their travels. For the ceremony they presented rocks they’d gathered from their childhood homes. They then joined the stones from both into a single stepping stone – “literally cementing their union” while the song, “Bloom” by Paper Kites played.
All their guests then gave a group declaration of support and they were pronounced husband and wife and recessed to the Lumineers song, “Ho Hey”!
There was a brief cocktail period where our favorite Magician, Robert entertained with some sleight of hand. It wasn’t long before the couple made their Grand Entrance and everyone was seated to a Family Style meal catered by Lori & Sue of Two Tartes Catering.
Before the toasts began we did “The Art of The Kiss” to involve and entertain the guests. It was very fun and got the energy flowing in the room!
Their first dance as husband and wife was to Jason Mraz “I won’t give up”. Bride and Father danced to Paul Simon’s “Father & Daughter” and Matt and Diane danced to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
The dance floor opened up with a snowball dance and right into a fun playlist of requests chosen by the newlyweds! It wasn’t long before we wished them well and off to their Catalina Island honeymoon!
